I know, you didn't expect any more month-by-month pictures now that I'm a big 1-year-old, right? But here I am, 13 months old!

I'm very excited about it, as you can see.

I did a little dance to celebrate!

Then I walked over the check out the camera. It's great being such a big girl! 

Utensils are overrated. Wanna know how to eat with a spoon? Hold it in your left hand and shovel turkey into your mouth with your right! 

Dad snuck in the other night while I was sleeping to take this picture of me. When they put me to bed, I was alone at the top of the crib, but somehow I managed to get all my cribfriends to come lie down with me so I wouldn't be lonely in my sleep! 

This picture is for my mom's friend Angelica, another Penn State grad, who sent me this outfit. We don't keep in touch much, but we hear she's doing well (and that she may visit this blog every now and then) - we're happy for you Angelica!

Here's a video of me taking a few steps. You can hear my Aunt Liz in the background and my Granddaddy Ward worrying about me teetering around. Now that mom's figured out how to get video on to my blog, you can bet you'll be seeing more of me in motion!

Granddaddy Ward's Birthday Party (3-5-06)

Today we went to Grandma and Granddaddy Ward's house to celebrate Granddaddy's birthday. My Aunt Liz was there, and she read me my favorite alphabet book.

She also helped me walk around a little.

But what I really had fun doing was walking around with Granddaddy!

I took him down the hallway...

And showed him where his office is...

And then showed him the rest of his house. I just dragged him around with me everywhere. We had a great time! 

Why does Mommy insist on taking these self-portraits? We look so goofy! 

My afternoon at the park

Mom and I went to Westside Park to play this afternoon because it was such a beautiful day out. We had lots of fun and Daddy met us there. Here are some pictures of what we did.
First, we went on the swings. Yippee!


Then I played in the dirt and the sand.


After that, I climbed up on to this great jungle gym thing.


I was up there all by myself, Mom's too big to get in with me!


The very best part was going down the slide! What fun! Oh, and eating bark too, that's also great.


I had so much fun I didn't want to leave. I wanted to go back up the slide (but didn't get very far).

Se busca niñera...

We're still trying to figure out the perfect daycare solution for me while mom and dad are at work. Mom put a classified ad in the Spanish newspaper, La Voz Latina, looking for a babysitter to speak Spanish to me. She thought it was going to be a little tiny normal classified, but they made it all fancy! We've met a couple people so far, but nobody yet is the latina version of Ern. We'll keep you posted... 

Can you believe my parents went out AGAIN last night? Another party! Thank goodness I have my Grandma and Granddaddy Ward to play with me when they're out! 

I'm growing so much more hair, I can even put little bows in it.  

I'm walking!

I took my first solo steps on Saturday, February 25th. To celebrate, we went and got me my first real pair of shoes at Stride Rite.They look HUGE, don't they?

But the nice lady that helped us promised they were the right size, and they seem to fit well enough. 

I got a new bib the other day, since I'm such a messy eater now that I feed myself most of the time. As you can see, I'm not so thrilled with the whole bib thing...

I'd much rather eat naked - No muss, no fuss! 

Mornings are such a happy time for me. After I get dressed (and isn't this a cute outfit? Thanks Grandpa Lord and Miss Eleanor!), I play in my room a little while.

Then we go in to the living room and I play some more while dad gets our breakfast ready.

After I eat, I read books while mom and dad eat. What fun! (I have a little bit of a cold, sorry I didn't blow my nose before this picture was taken.) 

My parents said it was about time I started earning my keep around the house. So I cleaned the kitchen, starting with the oven. 

Mom and Dad got dressed up and went out on a date the other night. Yes, they left me at home.

I know you're wondering why I wasn't in that last picture - this is why!
