Daddy's home!

Daddy finally came home Sunday afternoon. We had to wait a long time at the airport, but luckily I had books to keep me busy.

By the time Daddy finally got there and we got home, we were all really tired.
So we took a nap in the big bed. Boy, was I out!

And then Daddy and I played in the living room ... and read more books.
I'm such a big girl I got up on the couch all by myself and surrounded myself with my books. Posted by Picasa

I mean, I'm glad Daddy's home and all, but books are just too good to ignore!

Saturday evening dinner date

On Saturday evening my friend David (and his parents Bonnie and Joaquim) invited us over for dinner. I like playing with my friend David, he's so calm and easy going.

They have a new house which has a rocking chair! I sat in it by myself.

They also have a big mirror, which I loved looking at and playing with.

I read to myself!

My friend Theresa was there too, she and David let me play with David's lion toy. It was a fun evening! Posted by Picasa

WE MISS YOU, DADDY!

Hi Daddy!
Mama and I wanted to post a picture of us so you don't forget us while you're at your conference in New Orleans.

(OK, so it's not the best picture of us ever. We'll work on getting another one...)
I miss you a lot and I wish you'd call.

Mama and I are practicing dialing numbers on the phone, and when I figure it out maybe I'll try calling you!
(Remember when you went to the conference last year and we talked on the phone?)

For now though, I'm too sad without you to even play. I just look at my toys despondently...

Come home soon!

"I wear my sunglasses at night"

I got some sunglasses just for me the other day. It's so bright and sunny, and we're going to the beach in a couple weeks, so we figured I needed them.

Aren't they just super cool?

By the way, I don't really wear them at night, the title of the post was just in honor of my Aunt Melissa who used to be a huge fan of Corey Hart... She was even in his fan club!

I can't even imagine...

... how hard it must be to have twins!

Thing 1 and Thing 2 keep me pretty busy.

I don't know how Nana did it, raising twins! Posted by Picasa

Turn, turn, turn

So, Mama wanted to take a video of how funny it is when I try to carry both Thing 1 and Thing 2 at the same time, but again I didn't do what she wanted. However, I did decide that spinning in a circle until I make myself dizzy is fun! And then I got in to all kinds of trouble with my milk and the couch, and you can just ignore that part...

Let the Gator Growl!

Evening play time

In the evenings before bed I play in the living room. Mama took this video so you could see one of my temper tamtrums I throw when I can't cover the baby or the doll just the way I want it. But I seem to have behaved pretty well in this video, no tantrums... so at least you can see what I do to play these days!

Colors!

We were learning about colors at my school this week. To help out, we all dressed in the theme color for that day...

Tuesday was blue day.

Thursday was green day.

And Friday was RAINBOW day! Posted by Picasa

PS - I DID brush my hair this morning, it just wouldn't stay in place!
Daddy got me dressed the other morning. I think maybe he needs a little more practice with the onesies... Posted by Picasa

Bathtime Salon & Spa

I got a new hair-do in the bath the other evening. What do you think, is it mePosted by Picasa

CLIMBING

My newest - and scariest yet - skill is that I've discovered climbing. I can get up on the sofas and the futons, and I've tried to climb bookcases. Grandma says I tried to get up on her kitchen counters from a step stool... Oh, what a whole new world is opening up!
Here's a video of me climbing up on the toy chest in my room. I get really frustrated when I can't do it as quickly as I want.
And note my graceful dismount - we're going to have to work on that one!

More climbing ... at the park

And now that I know how to climb, I had all kinds of fun at the park with Mama over the weekend. I climbed up the jungle gym,

And looked out the little window. (I actually made a goofy face around the other side by putting my mouth up against it and blowing, but Mama wasn't quick enough with the camera to catch that precious moment.)

And then I even went down the slide all by myself!

I didn't make it quite to the bottom, and I sort of got stuck at this point. Maybe next time I'll figure it out.  Posted by Picasa

But for now, I'll just climb up and down, up and down...

(There was a little boy playing with a ball, which is why I say "Ball ball ball ball" as I'm running around...)

A new/old toy?

Look what I found in the cupboard the other day. . . Sure, I hated these things a year and a half ago, but it seems kind of fun now! (Not for any extended period of time though, just enough to be silly.) Posted by Picasa

Stroller rides

One of my favorite things now is giving Beba and Zoe rides in their little stroller. We go all over the house, and I can even back up. Sort of.

(And then I get distracted by exploring in places where I probably shouldn't...)

I've been wondering what all these teeth are for...

Now I know! Yumm! Posted by Picasa

My daycare

I've been going to daycare since January, but I know I've never blogged about it. So here are a few pictures so you can see what it's like there.

This is the outside, and here I am with Daddy. Even though I really like it there, I'm always a little sad when we get there in the mornings.

Once I get inside though and see my teachers, Mrs. Mayra and Mrs. Nany, and remember all the fun we have, I'm happy. There are all kinds of toys to play with.

There's even a ball pit, and you can bet I just love that!

I'm learning how to climb up and down things with these big foam blocks.

And the best part is that there are babies there! This is Eliany, Mrs. Nany's daughter. I can say "Nani" too.

We have a great time - in fact, sometimes I cry when we have to leave!
I still like playing with balls, and I've got so many to play with now! This is a wiffle ball that I like to chase around the house, and it's especially fun in the bathtub. Posted by Picasa

why self feeding is fun

I know I should start to be interested in self feeding. And in a way I am... I'm interested in dumping everything out of the bowl and playing with it.

It makes a very nice hat, too! Posted by Picasa
