I'm such a big girl!

I'm such a big girl that I've stopped sitting in my high chair and started sitting at the table with Mami and Daddy.

See how I'm eating just like a grown up?

I'm drinking my milk out of a big-girl cup too!

Aren't you proud of me?!

Playing Humpty Dumpty

For some reason Humpty Dumpty has reemerged as a favorite character of mine. But I like to take the story a little further - Humpty needed a speaking part. I believe, or so I say, that he says "Woa, woa woa" before he falls. Then, we need some sound effects so I add a >>splat!<<. Finally, Humpty's last words are "Ouch!"
So I go around saying this, but often I act it out too, see? Splat! Ouch!

If I'm lucky, I get Daddy to play along too. Double splat! Double ouch!

A party for my baby sister

Some good friends organized a little party for us (and really for Lela) this past weekend. It was great because lots of my friends were there, and Rori had prepared yummy food.
This is me playing with flashlights with Max and his Daddy Peter. We thought that was super fun!

My friend David came too, with his Daddy Joaquim,

And his Mommy Bonnie!

This is my friend Chloe - she'll be one whole year old next week. She came to the party too.

Even Grandma and Granddaddy were there!

At the party I played with all those friends and even got some presents for me, like these Dora books (thank you Theresa and Grandma and Granddaddy!) and the cute stuffed cat (thank you David and Bonnie and Joaquim), and the markers (thank you Max and Rori and Peter).

But mostly the party was about Mami and Daddy, and of course Lela. She got lots of presents but since she's still in Mami's tummy I very graciously and selflessly offered to help open the presents. (Mami says to tell you she'll be writing thank you notes soon...)

Helping with this is not as easy as you'd think because Mami's got a big belly and there wasn't a lot of room for me, her, Lela and the presents, but I did what I could.

What a great day it was. Thank you to all our friends!

Going for a drive

Mami made the mistake of asking me to climb into the car by myself yesterday. (She thinks it's pretty clear she meant for me to get into my car seat...) I decided to take my turn in the driver's seat.

But wait, first things first. We've got to tune the radio right. You can't drive without the right music. [Or maybe NPR's All Things Considered, since I hum along to that theme song when we're in the car.]

And then we check for objects in our rear view mirror... Wait, how do I look?

Ok, all set. Here we go!

With a rebel yell

Daddy gave me a special punk rock hairdo in the bath the other night.

What do you think, do I look like Billy Idol?

Gator gal

Now that we're into football season again, I've got to get all gator-gussied-up on Fridays so I can show my friends at school my team spirit. This is this season's outfit:

And after the summer break, I've been practicing my Gator Chomp again so I'll be in prime form for our game against Troy tomorrow.

CHOMP CHOMP! Go Gators!

Sunday afternoon playdate

Grandma and Graddaddy came over for dinner this evening. Dinner wasn't quite ready when they got here, so I played a little with Grandma in my room. Then I asked Granddaddy to come play. We got all my toys out and I asked Granddaddy to situate himself in just the right spot so I could put the cradle where I wanted it. See?

Yep, that's Granddaddy under there!
You OK down there, Granddaddy?

He didn't seem to complain, I guess he thought it was as fun as I did!

Go Gators!

FOOTBALL SEASON STARTED THIS WEEKEND!
The Gators played Western Kentucky for our first game, and Daddy and Mami and I watched together. We celebrated the touchdowns in style!

There were many opportunities to perfect this move, as the Gators won 49-3 (even when they called the game 9 minutes early because of lightning)

I'm looking forward to another winning season with my Gators - I can recognize pictures of Coach Meyer and of Tim Tebow in the paper, and I sing the fight song very well!
