A Sunday evening prayer

Daddy and I have practiced this a few times, but nobody had any idea I really knew all the words. (Well, most of the words at least. Some of them I just sort of make up...) Add this to my repertoire of shabbat blessings and, well, I'm quite multicultural!

Dancing queen

After watching the disco elves many many times, I've picked up a few disco moves of my own.

Talk about dance fever...

Now that Thanksgiving is past...

We can talk about Christmas! (That was the deal we had in my house - no mention of Christmas until after Thanksgiving.) In preparation, we all did a little dance with our elf friend for you blog fans. Enjoy!

A visit from my family!

Nana and Adam have come to visit for Thanksgiving, and I'm so excited to see them!
Nana and I played on the floor and outside and had all kinds of fun.

And I reallly enjoyed seeing Uncle Adam again, it had been a long time.

Lela, on the other hand, is still in the midst of her "stranger danger" phase, so she wasn't all that happy when Daddy and Mami had to run out to the store.

But check on her blog, she did find something to be happy about with this visit. And soon she should feel more comfortable with Nana and Adam.

A day on campus

I'm pretty sick today (as I'll tell anyone who asks, "I have a nasty cold"), and Mami and Daddy decided to keep me home from school. This made the day interesting, since they both had to work.
So I went to campus with Mami. After spending the morning in meetings in her office (I met lots of her students!), we went to Jimmy John's for lunch.

Then we went to Mami's SLA class.

And the best part of the day was the special visit with Ms. Jenifer, who happened to find us on campus. She actually played with me during Mami's class, so it turns out I didn't have to sit quiety for an hour after all.

It was, overall, a great day, but I still feel kind of sick.

Turkey songs

Today at school was our pre-Thanksgiving performance and feast. My class sang two great songs.
The first was about "fat turkeys." Check out my stint at the mic:

The next was about our pet turkey named Albuquerque:

(Gosh, I hope it's not too traumatic when fat turkey Albuquerque appears on the dining table next week...)

Yee Haw!

Tonight was the hoedown at my school. It's a big cowboy themed fundraiser with fiddle music and hay bales and scarecrows.
Lela and I wore our jeans, of course.

I got a cowboy hat too! (And a bandana around my neck later, it was really cute!)

Lela got a hat too,

although she didn't keep hers on all night like I did.
She was too busy running around.

I, on the other hand, was too busy dancing and going crazy with my friends.

Lela made a new friend too! :)

That's what I'm talkin' about!

Boy did we have a great time watching the game yesterday!

The Gators kept scoring and scoring, and we were so happy.

I celebrated all of their 8 touchdowns.

Go Gators!

So give a cheer for the orange and blue!

This post is dedicated to our friends Maleah and Ashlyn, who are big Gamecock fans. We support them in their team spirit all year long except today, when the Gators play the Gamecocks. Sorry girls, we're rooting for the Gators all out today!

Be sure to check Lela's blog too, we sing a different song there.

Dinnertime conversations

When we all sit down to dinner, Mami and Daddy usually ask how my day was. Some days I just say, "Good" and that's that. Other days, I tell them all kinds of fun stuff. Tonight was one of those conversations.
Apparently, we went to the computer lab at school today.

Beautiful fall weather

Today was such a beautiful day that we had to spend some time outside this afternoon after our naps. We decided to go to the playground at the school down the street.
I was very anxious and kept wakling faster and faster...

...but I had to keep waiting for Lela to catch up. She walks a little slower.

As soon as we got there, though, I took off running. Everywhere.

Meanwhile, Lela explored.

She was too scared to go in to this tunnel, but she did like standing at the end.
And the sound this beam made when she banged her hand on it kept her entertained for quite some time.

While she was doing her thing, I was pretending to be at a spa. I decided that the sand was "cream" and before anyone could stop me I had rubbed it all over my arms, legs and face.

But without a doubt my favorite part of the playground are the big slides.

I love climbing up and sliding down, over and over.

The only problem is the static cling...

It just gets worse with each slide.

But I still love it!
We had a great time!

Election day gals

Lela and I wore our red white and blue today in honor of election day. (And of course my princess hat. Did you wear your princess hat?)

I'm pretty excited about this election. I recognize both candidates and have discussed with Mami and Daddy the pros and cons of each. I've helped Lela learn about Democrats and Republicans, too, as well as this whole Electoral College deal.

And without revealing who I voted for, when I see my preferred candidate's signs, I say "Yes we can!" and "¡Sí se puede!" (or sometimes "Yes we puede" if I get a little bilingually confused...)

How 'bout them Gators?!?

This past weekend was, as I'm sure you all know, the Florida~Georgia football game. It's a big deal around here. (That's why Lela's party was in the morning, so as not to interfere with the game!) So after our naps, Lela and I were all gator-ed out and ready to cheer for our team.
I did some dancing in front of the TV. Here's me doing a good luck dance for Coach Meyer's discussion with the ref.
It worked!
Yay Gators, CHOMP CHOMP!
Lela did her own thing too, and we danced and cheered the afternoon away.
All our efforts payed off - we won, and BIG TIME!
G O G A T O R S !
(PS - Gator fans, if you like our outfits, check out Amy's other stuff at Go Baby Go. I'll be she'd even make stuff for other teams...)

My John Hancock

I gave Lela a pretty princess card for her birthday. (Of course it was a princess card!) She liked it, but Mami and Daddy were pretty impressed with how I signed my name -- all by myself!

Sure, it's not perfect, but there are 5 distinct letters that look a lot like an R, an E, an S, an L and an I. In the right order. WOW. Remember, I'm only 3 and 1/2!
