Happy Anniversary

May 29th was Mama and Daddy's 2nd anniversary. To celebrate they went to St. Augustine and stayed the night in this wonderful bed and breakfast called "Casa de SueƱos".

They went out to a very nice dinner. It was elegant, especially without me there to throw food on the floor.

Where was I, you ask? I stayed in Gainesville and played at Grandma and Granddaddy Ward's house. I slept over there too! It was so exciting that I stayed up for a large part of the night, so nobody really got any sleep.

Can you believe Daddy and Mama left me alone for a whole night? I couldn't either. But they called to check on me... a lot.  Posted by Picasa

We're all glad to be back together again, we missed each other!

ANOTHER pretty outfit!

My aunt Liz gave me this gorgeous dress. Don't I look pretty in it? Posted by Picasa

Like a kid in a candy store. Or a little girl in a sports store.

We went to a sports store yesterday afternoon. Guess what they had there? BALLS!

And more balls!

And then I found it, the prince of all balls.

I think I love this ball. Posted by Picasa

Helpful Resli

When we go out places I like to help Mama by carrying her purse for her. I carry it over my arm, just like she does.

Sure, it's a little big for me, but it's worth it. She's got some pretty cool things in here! Posted by Picasa

Sprinkler sprinting

I had an adventure with the lawn sprinkler on Saturday.

I got really wet, but it was so fun! Posted by Picasa
Mama got her hair cut the other day. She said she was tired of fighting the heat and humidity. I think she just wanted to look more like me! Posted by Picasa

I can use a fork!

Spoons are still a little beyond me, but I'm very good at getting the fork into my mouth (and the food too!) - I just need Mama to get the food on to the fork.
First, though, we have to cool off the food when it's really hot. We do that by blowing on it:

And now here's a video where you can see me feeding myself. And as an added bonus at the end I say 'bye-bye' and wave [although I wave with the fork hand, so it's hard to see].

tired=cranky

Yes, when Beba gets tired she gets really cranky. (You didn't think I was talking about myself, did you?!) So when I can tell she needs a nap, I wrap her up gently (!) in a blanket (you know what I mean),

and I sing her a lullaby while swaying back and forth...

And then we both lie down on the floor for a short nap. I even make little pretend snoring noises to help her sleep. It's just what she needs to recharge her batteries! Posted by Picasa

Poor Beba!

I doubt you remember, I hardly do, but Beba used to be very pretty and clean with beautiful hair. See? This is what she looked like when Nana first gave her to me for my birthday:

Boy, do I love Beba. And hard. This is what she looks like now, after lots of loving and a few trips through the washer and dryer:

Kind of scary, isn't it?

An early morning portrait

But the question is, is this a cute half-smile,

or a devious, scheming grin?

Busy busy busy

It seems like there's always something going on around here, and I've always got something to do. Like drink my milk,

or look at pictures,

Or make noise.

And then of course, there are balls to play with.

I lead a very busy life, as you can see! Posted by Picasa

Happy Birthday, Max!

On Saturday my friend Max had a birthday party. He turned 2!

Do you remember when I went to his first birthday party a year ago? I've changed so much, click here to see a picture from that post.

I had a fun time playing with the older kids.

There were lots of balls there for me to play with...

And I mean lots!

Are you getting a clearer picture of my fascination with balls?

But overall, we had a great time. Thanks for inviting us, Max! Posted by Picasa

So happy!

I just have to say how nice it is to not be sick all the time anymore. I'm sooo happy now! I was happy before too, but I'm all smiles now.

I've got a new dance step, too, which I show off in the video below. Mama thinks I've been secretly watching the movie Flashdance - Remember that song "Maniac"?

A special day

This past Sunday was Mother's Day and Grandma Ward's birthday. So I got all dressed up and put a bow in my hair, and Grandma and Granddaddy came over to our house for lunch.

Daddy did most of the work, but Mama and I wanted to help in the kitchen a little too. Since we were dressed up, we had to put on aprons to protect our clothes from the mess we were sure to make.

Mmmm, we had mashed potatoes and salmon. Yum!

And of course no gathering is complete until I show everyone my belly button!

I'm ready for my close-up, Mr. DeMille!

Share and share alike

Even if I've already eaten my breakfast, I like to have some of Mama's cereal too. (Besides, she's using my bowl, it says "Resli" on it!) She sits down with me on the floor because she doesn't have a high chair.

Touchdown!

Daddy likes to read me My First Gators Book. In it, the Gators score a touchdown, which I celebrate with one or two arms up, depending on how I feel. (Are you realizing that the kitchen floor is one of my favorite places to sit? We're not too sure why...)

I can't get enough of balls these days. . .

"Ball" was my first real word and even though I can say a few more things, I love that one! See, I have a little one (in my hand) and a big green one (I can say "green" sort of too). I like kicking the green one around the house.
