Another first... my first head trauma!

I was running around and dancing with my friend Hannah Grace at school today when we crashed into a wall. Well, I crashed into the wall, I think I cushioned Hannah Grace's fall quite nicely.
So Mami came to pick me up and we went to see Dr. Grooms so she could see if my head was OK. Even though it hurt a lot, I stayed in a good mood at the doctor's office and ate my raisins and sang silly songs with Mami to pass the time while we waited.

Then Dr. Grooms and Miss Kay cleaned out the cut and we saw that it wasn't as big as we thought it was. (It bled a lot!) See? Not that bad.

But it was still bleeding a good deal, and it was pretty deep, so they wanted to close it up so it would heal and stop hurting me.
I was a very brave girl, and only cried a little when they stuck me with needles and wiped me with gauze and then stapled my head together! Ta-daaa:

All better! Well, it still hurts a little, but at least on its way to being better. And I managed to find a smile for the camera when we got home.

And I was sure to tell Lela all about it. She was very worried about me, but I told her I was going to be fine.

And I told her to please be careful when she starts dancing around!

Update

Hi blogfans-
I apologize for my recent lack of blogging. Mami and Lela went to a conference and took the camera, leaving me and Daddy not only to fend for ourselves, but to do so without graphic documentation. We collectively apologize. However, Daddy and I had a great weekend together and we both behaved very well and had tons of fun together. It was good father-daughter bonding. And next time, we promise to make Mami leave the camera with us!
Love,
Resli

I made a new friend today...

After school today, Mami and Daddy and Lela and I went to the University of Florida's campus for a special Gator gymnastics meet. Lela and I both wore our pink Gator shirts to show our school spirit and to help the gymnasts fight breast cancer.

And then, after waiting in line for an hour (during which I was very well behaved), we met...
DORA!
I was so excited that I literally squealed with delight when it was my turn to meet her. I ran right up to her...

...and gave her a great big hug!

I tried to talk to her in Spanish a little, but it was really noisy there and I'm not sure she heard me.

And then we had our picture taken together.

Is that not just the absolute coolest Friday evening ever??!?!?!

Bubbe and Zyde Shabbat

Today was a very special Shabbat day at my school - it was Bubbe and Zyde day! (For my fellow goyim out there, that means grandma and graddaddy to us!)
Mami and Daddy and Lela were there, and my special guest was Grandma. She sat next to me during songs and prayers and stories.

Then we all went back to my classroom for ice cream. (I'm sitting next to my friends Riley on the left and Anir on the right.)

Grandma came too, and she got to look around my class and see all my toys and friends. Thanks for coming, Grandma!

Birthday cake!

At my party, we had birthday cake. Remember last year how Mami made me an Elmo cake? Well, this year she made a Dora cake! It was a little more challenging, she says, but it tasted great and I knew immediately it was Dora, so that's really what matters, right?

Mami and Daddy and Lela and I all got together as everyone sang "Happy Birthday" to me.

And then it was time to blow out my three candles!

Mami helped...

Then finally, we all ate Dora up! My friend Max had some with ice cream,

...and my friend David really enjoyed his too...

...and once Chloe got her milk, she liked it as well!

It was a great party, in spite of my not feeling well, and I'm so glad I was able to be with my friends and family to celebrate.
What kind of cake do you think I'll want next year??!?

My birthday party

On Saturday I had a birthday party for my friends and family. I was feeling a little under the weather (turns out it's another ear infection), so I spent some time pouting on the floor.

But Nana picked up my slack and put on the birthday crown in the mean time.

Lela slept through a lot of it, but that's ok, it was my party.

A special Shabbat day

On Friday, I turned THREE YEARS OLD! To help celebrate at school, I sponsored Shabbat that day. That meant that I got to wear a special necklace (as well as my party hat!), and I got to sit next to the rabbi when we read stories. I was a great helper!

I also got my very own loaf of challah!

Yea, I was happy about that!

And then I was a Shabbat helper too, so I helped say the blessings with Miss Adriana and some of my friends.

After all that, we went back to my classroom, and look what Daddy and Mami had brought for me and my classmates: princess cupcakes!

We were all really excited to eat our cupcakes!

I, of course, got to eat the one with Cinderella on it. I didn't want to take her off, either.

Boy, do I love cupcakes! What a great birthday celebration I had!

Just us girls

I like spending time with the girls. Here's me, Lela and Mami all hangin' out on the couch.

I like hugging Lela, as always.

We like dancing together too, although Lela's not quite tall enough to be the perfect dance partner.

That didn't stop me from rockin' out though, and I think she'll learn in time.

Check me out!

Look what I'm wearing!

No, I know you can't get a good look because I'm always in such a hurry, but they're BIG GIRL UNDERPANTS! I'm running away so fast because I'm headed to...

the POTTY! That's where big girls like me do their business, you know. The trick with wearing real underpants is that you have to remember to go to the potty, but I do that really well and I almost never have an accident. (Of course #2 is another issue, but I've got #1 taken care of. We'll keep working ...)

Hosting a tea party

Lately I've been hosting a few tea parties, mostly for Daddy and me, but sometimes Lela joins us too.

And with a little, um, encouragement, Lela usually drinks all her tea!

"He went to Paris..."

This one is for Uncle John...
One of my favorite songs that Daddy sings to me is Jimmy Buffett's "He Went to Paris." I sing along to almost all the lyrics, although the part about being left with only one eye throws me off every now and then. (I keep wanting him to find it in the next verse, on the beach of the island he lives on now.)
Of course, when reciting on my own, it's hard to remember the order of the words. I start out here with the first lines, then skip to the end ('...86 years of perpetual motion'), but you get the idea.

[Not sure why I end with "all the town" instead of "all the way"... I'm 2, what do you want from me?]
