Rockin' the Gator Nation: Resli Style ...

This morning Mami had some work to do and Lela had to get some work done at Grandma's house, so Daddy and I had a little time on our hands.  We figured it had been a while since we visited campus, so off we went.

Many of you may not realize this, but my Daddy is a little style-challenged.  He didn't think it was necessary to wear one of my crowns and Mami's boots to campus.

I relented and gave up the extra fashion accessories, and look! Here we are on the north lawn of the Reitz Union!  Look closely - that's the seal of the University of Florida I'm doing my touchdown dance on.

It's so intimidating being on campus - I'm already worried what my major will be ...

Perhaps botany.  I like flowers and plants, you know ...

Then again, I like Journalism and Communications.  I am, after all, one of Media's People ...

Daddy says this is how people used to "blog" in the old days ...

And in the even older days ...

OK, maybe print journalism isn't for me  - what about TV?  I love TV, you know.  And I've never seen so many TV's in one place in all my life as in master control at Daddy's TV station!

By this time, I needed a break so we went to see Daddy's friend Ms. Debbie - she works across the hall from him and she's a grandma, so she knows how to give good hugs.

Later we headed over to the Physics building.  They have cool stuff there as well ...

But frankly it can all be a bit much.  Sometimes a girl just needs to sit down and contemplate things under a palm tree, you know?

Whew!  What a morning!  Off to meet Mami for lunch ...

BOY did I miss you Mami!

Queen of the ABCs

Of course, I know my ABCs quite well by now, in English, Spanish, even Hebrew. But everyone can use a good visual aid now and then, which is why this outfit Santa brought me is especially useful.

And of course the royal crown just completes the ensemble perfectly!

Now, won't you sing with me?

Merry Christmas!

I woke up Christmas morning to discover that Santa had come to visit us!

There were lots of fun presents, but my recurring theme for the day was one of changing clothes...
In my stocking, I had some Ariel panties, which I immediately wanted to put on.

Then, after changing in to a pretty princess nightshirt, I opened up a tinkerbell costume!

Which I immediately donned as well.

Then later, at Grandma and Granddaddy's house, I took off all my clothes because I was pretending it was time to take a shower!

So, I'm a little silly, but all in all it was a great day. I have lots of toys to play with, books to read, and clothes to try on in the coming days. I hope you all had a great holiday too!

Special Christmas PJs

Aunt Melissa and Uncle Mathias sent me and Lela some special presents that she told us we were supposed to open on Christmas Eve. So after our baths on Wednesday night, we opened them and found these adorable Christmas pajamas!

I love dressing in matching clothes!

Then the challenge is of course getting us to pose together!
When one of us wants to, the other doesn't.

Or the other tries to escape!

Or, sometimes, we just topple over!
No matter, though, we love our pajamas and we all think we look adorable!

The lights at Windsor

The other evening I went with Daddy, Lela, Grandma and Granddaddy to see the great Christmas lights in Windwor.

There's a great big field to run around in, and paths to walk on, with lights everywhere!

And there are all kinds of displays.

I saw a reindeer too!

And a bunch of Santas.
And Lela and I got to ride in a sleigh!

It was a great way to get even readier for Christmas!

Come home Mami ...

And please tell Daddy to use the good camera for pictures he's going to post to the blog.

We're having fun, and I love Daddy and all, but a star like me needs better web production than he can provide. Oh yeah, and if you see Santa Claus in the air on your way home make sure he has directions to our house ...

A movie star in the making

It's a well known fact that I love the spotlight.
Last night after my bath I went all out with the movie star thing - gown, tiara, scarf and sunglasses.
Look out for me, I'm bound to have my very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame one day!

Lights in the darkness

Tonight we went on a special adventure. We had dinner at a restaurant and then stopped by the hospital where I was born to see their Christmas lights. They always have a great display!

(We went to the big lighting ceremony last year, remember?)
It was, well, dark out, and Mami only had the camera on her phone, so the pictures are somewhat lacking in compositional grace.

However, I loved all the lights and the big life-size snowglobes.

And had a blast running around.

I kept singing that it was the first day of Christmas (we've been working on the whole partridge in a pear tree thing!). I'm ready, Santa!

Guess who I met today?!?!

You'll never guess who we ran in to in Gainesville today... SANTA CLAUS!!!
We didn't know he was in town, especially during such a busy time of year, but I was glad to see him because I wanted to introduce myself to him and make sure he knew I was a good girl.

The very first thing I told him was that I was a good girl... sort of. I told him that I tried really hard to be good, "but sometimes it's a little difficult for me," and I also mentioned that "I usually sleep all night, but sometimes I don't."

But Santa seemed ok with that. We had a good talk anyway, and I hope he saw what a good girl I am deep inside.

What a special surprise for an otherwise fairly mundane Saturday, no?
