Rainy summer afternoons

Here in Florida, at least when we're not having a severe drought, it rains and thunders many or most afternoons. Here's my defense against the weather.

Aunt Melissa and Uncle Mathias' wedding!

We took a big trip last weekend, which is why I haven't been blogging much lately. (And Mami has been very busy with the start of the new semester...) It was so exciting, Meliss and Mathias got married!
We left on Thursday and drove up to Jacksonville. I told anyone and everyone that I was going to New York. Diego came too, of course, and I impressed upon him how important it is to stay well hydrated when flying.

We stayed at a great hotel in New York (which was really New Jersey, but what I don't know won't hurt me, right?) where they had a fun lobby and stairs to climb and halls to run crazy in, and even a swimming pool! Daddy took me in the first morning, and I had a great time, although it was a little chilly.

This was the only time I could swim because the weather changed and it was pretty cold, at least for a Florida gal like me, the rest of the time we were there. But that was ok because I played a lot with other things. Like in this picture, I'm doing row row row your boat with Nana and Uncle Adam - that was lots of fun!

On Friday evening we went to a campsite near Bear Mountain to see Meliss and Mathias get married. I wore my pretty new dress and got a very pretty "wedding hat" to wear too - don't I look lovely?

There were lots of people there that were riding on the bike ride Aunt Melissa and Uncle Mathias were doing. There were even other kids. This is a boy named Brian who really wanted to be my friend. He gave me a stick as an offering.

He was nice, but then I had work to do. Daddy and I had to help Melissa get her flowers ready. Grandpa pretended he was helping too, but it was really all me.

Once everyone got their acts together, I led Melissa down the "aisle", which was composed of cyclists from the ride, all wearing T-shirts that said "Melissa & Mathias". This was harder than it looks because they were walking too, so the aisle was moving. And you know how easily I get distracted...

But they eventually found their way to the tent where they needed to be (without my help, I'm sorry to say.) Don't they look happy?

Mami and I stayed back and watched, we didn't want to get in the way. I behaved very well during the ceremony, I didn't make any noise and I just watched quietly.

And then it was over - they were married! They kissed (they did that a lot!) and there were bubbles everywhere. Bubbles! I love bubbles!

Wait, though, the best part is yet to come: there was cake. Meliss and Mathias cut it, and then we all had some.

It was a great wedding, but that wasn't the end of the fun. On Saturday, Mami and Daddy and Nana and I went shopping during the day. What do you think of the shoes I picked out?

I thought they were just perfect but Mami and Daddy apparently didn't agree, because we left and I was still wearing the same sandals I'd had on that morning.

That night, Meliss and Mathias had another party at a restaurant, and I got to go to that too. Adam and Daddy played with me a lot there too. I behaved very well, and ate more cake. (I think people should get married all the time and invite me to their weddings!)

All in all, it was a wonderful weekend and I got to see that whole side of my family (many of whom didn't, unfortunately, make it into pictures that ended up on this blog, for which I and my ghost writer are very sorry). By the end of it, I was just pooped. I slept a lot in the car to the airport, in the airplane, etc. etc. etc. I'm still catching up!

There are a LOT more photos from the weekend (although I have to warn you, I'm not in all of them!) and you can see them here if you'd like.

Last day of school party

Today was the last day of school in my Toddler classroom. When I go back (next week) I'll be in the 2-year-old classroom! My teachers had a party for us today!
They had great snacks. I ate about a million mini-muffins. (You'd think Mami and Daddy didn't feed me at home or something. I think I was embarrassing my friend Brinkley, she turned away so she didn't have to watch me sneak another muffin!)

And we played in the water - I love to do that! This is me with my friend Hannah Grace, we're obviously having tons of fun!

Miss Jenifer got out the hose to spray us with too. I sometimes like this, I sometimes don't. Today it seemed fun.

[There are a lot of other pictures from my party here, if you're interested.]
Here's a picture of me with Miss Jenifer. She won't be my teacher anymore next year.

And here's me with Miss Dani. She won't be my teacher next year anymore either.

I had such a great year with my teachers, I'm going to miss them very much. I'm sure I'll like my new teachers too, but these two are just great. Thank you both for everything!

Crazy Krippy Beard

I'm very good at feeding myself my "krippies" in the morning. Sometimes though, one or two escape on the way to my mouth...

... and I grow my crazy krippy beard!

The spaghetti challenge

I love pasta, but sometimes it's extremely difficult to eat! First, I tried with a spoon.

That didn't work so well. So then I tried with a fork and a spoon.

Then, when Mami and Daddy weren't looking, I decided to just try the two-handed approach.

That worked ok, but the best method by far seems to have been the "spoon + fork + hands + great big slurp approach"!

How do you eat your spaghetti? (And do you need a bath afterwards?)

Mami overdid it on the bubbles

Mami got a little crazy when she was getting my bath ready the other night - look how many bubbles she put in:

I tried to lift them up and move the out of the way, but it seemed like they just kept coming.

Maybe this is the only way to get rid of them all - Drink up!

(Just kidding, I didn't really drink them. But boy did it take a while to rinse me off at the end of that bath!)

A new mode of transportation for me

Sure, I thought crawling, walking, running and riding around in my carseat were enough - who needs any other ways to get around? But then I discovered something even better.
You see, when I got to Grandma and Graddaddy's house the other day, they had this funny looking hat for me to put on.

And then they wheeled out this thing, which is apparently called a tricycle. Grandma and Mami helped show me how to use it. Even though I'm still a little small for it, I kind of understand how it works.

And then I was off! Wheeeee!

I wonder what other mysterious and fabulous modes of transportation await me in my future...
