2006: A photo retrospective

2006 has been a good year for me, and I hope for all of you too.

I'll see you all in 2007, blogger fans!

My first haircut!

I know I don't have a whole lot of hair, but I have just enough that it's gotten a little unruly lately, and it gets in my eyes and stuff. So we decided to take me for my first haircut today!
This is the "before" picture - my usual look that you're all accustomed to:

Daddy and I sat in the chair with our gowns on and we looked through some magazines for new style ideas. Then she started cutting away!
I was a little scared and unhappy at first.

But eventually I calmed down and let the woman work her magic.

TA-DAAA!
Here's the "after" picture, the final product! (I know, it's a drastic change, isn't it?!?)

Enjoy these pictures, blogger fans, because this may be my last 'public' haircut for a while. They charged an outrageous $15 for this work of art, if you can believe that, so Mami says she's just going to cut my hair from now on! (uh oh...)

They have some neat playgrounds in N.C.!

Even though it was much colder in North Carolina than it is in Florida, it was nice enough for us to be able to play outdoors most days.
Nana showed us this great playground near her house, and I had a wonderful time playing there. I drove a jeep . . .

And I rode on a motorcycle . . .

And I went down a slide! Weeeeee!

By the way, the cut under my nose - although pretty obvious in just about every picture - is only a tiny little scratch I got when I fell down running around outside my nana's house. See, there are a lot more hills there in the mountains than I'm used to here in Florida, and the gravity just got the better of me! But I'm fine, I've forgotten all about it.

Quality time with my family

I don't get to spend nearly enough time with some of my family, although the trip to North Carolina for Christmas (see below) was a wonderful chance to see them. I had a great time reacquainting myself with my aunt and uncles and my nana, and played with everyone a lot.

Uncle Mathias crawled around on the floor and played hide-and-seek with me.

He made me laugh a lot!

Who knew a stapler could be so much fun?!

My Aunt Melissa got on the floor to play with me too. Here we're pretending to nap together, because this little piece of green bubble wrap seemed like a perfect pretend pillow to me.

My Uncle Adam taught me a few tunes on the piano.

Wow, he's really good! Lucky for me I had my Musikgarten classes to prepare me.

And my Nana kept me out of trouble. See, she won't let me have this bottle of wine, even for Christmas!

I hope I get to see more of my family soon!

Merry Christmas

I had another wonderful Christmas celebration, this time in North Carolina at my Nana's house. We drove up there a few days before Christmas and just got home last night, and it was wonderful to see my family.
We decorated Nana's tree on Christmas Eve, and I helped.

And then on Christmas morning we stayed in our pajamas and opened presents.

I got lots of neat stuff, like this outfit from Meliss and Mathias, and these pink socks from Santa - all of which I insisted on wearing on top of my pajamas. The hat is Nana's, I just really liked it.

I wore a lot of bows too - in my hair...

... and everywhere!

Later that day I got dressed up in my "party dress" and my "party shoes"

and we all ate Christmas dinner together.

Oh, and there was ice cream. Yummy!

What a wonderful Christmas!

(an early) Christmas at the Wards'

Since Daddy and Mami and I, as well as Liz and Brian, are going to be away from Gainesville for Christmas next week, we had an early celebration at Grandma and Granddaddy's house on Sunday.
I was very helpful. I helped Grandma open her gifts.

And I delivered gifts to Granddaddy.

Aunt Liz and Brian gave me a cute pair of pink pajamas, which I carried around all day, and this Strawberry Shortcase "sheepskin" vest, which I just love. (As Mami writes this, I'm either wearing or hugging this very vest in my crib... I wouldn't go to bed without it!)

I also got a book of Sesame Street stories, which I'm very interested in reading. Mami says we'll have a long time to read on our drive up to North Carolina!

There were many great gifts, but honestly, at times I thought the boxes were pretty cool too.

And bows. Bows are always fun to play with!

The highlight of my day, without a doubt, was opening this gift, also from Liz and Brian. Watch the video and you'll see why...

I was so happy for the rest of the day, and still am, to have my very own Elmo!

My first school picture

I got my first ever school picture taken this month at my dayschool.

I wasn't exactly patient about the whole thing, and I refused to let go of the Elmo they had in the office there, but it came out OK anyway. Now my parents have to start a whole new photo album for me!

An afternoon outdoors

We've been having wonderful weather lately (although Mami says it's not nearly wintery enough!), so today we went out to rake all the leaves from the front lawn.
I helped Mami,

... and then I got my own rake and did some more.

But how are we ever going to finish when the leaves keep falling off the trees?!?!
(click to enlarge this one, the facial expression is priceless!)

I eventually got too frustrated and ran away.

I grabbed my towel and washed the wooden fence.
(Yea, don't ask...)

And when we were all done, Mami spun me around a little!

I love this, it's soooo much fun!

Weeeeeeeeeee!
All in all, you couldn't ask for a better Saturday that this, could you?

Happy Chanukah!

We went to our first Chanukah party ever on Thursday evening. It was at B'nai Israel, my day school. We sat with friends from my class and their parents. We ate latkas! (And I did my cheesy grin whenever there was a camera!)

After dinner we played dradyl games.

Daddy spun it and I caught it! (That's not really how you're supposed to play, but I enjoyed it!)

Did you know that there's a Chanukah Bear? He was at the party too!

Our Christmas tree

We put up our Christmas tree last weekend. Isn't it pretty?I learned very quicky that I'm supposed to LOOK at it, but not TOUCH it, and I'm pretty good about that. It's hard because we have an Elmo ornament that I'm just dying to get my hands on, but so far I've just looked at it (as far as we know, of course). Posted by Picasa

Happy Birthday, David!

My friend David turned 1 on December 7th, and he had a party at his house this past weekend to celebrate. (Can you believe he's already a year old? It seems like just yesterday when I went to meet him when he was first born!)

His Daddy, Joaquim, helped him blow out the candle on his cake.

And then, because he's so nice, he lit the candle again and let me try to blow it out (Daddy helped)...

And Max got a turn too!

It was a great party and we had a wonderful time, thank you for inviting us!

Sleeping 'like a baby'?!?

Lately, when Mami and Daddy put me to bed, I've stayed a wake a LONG time talking to myself and playing with all my friends in the crib.
Mami snuck a picture of me the other night so you can see the chaos I create!

How time flies...

Can you believe I'm already 22 months old?

Yippee!
