17 months!

With all the excitement of the trip and me being sick and all, we plum forgot about taking my 17 month pictures on the 8th. But luckily, the 8th was Nana's birthday lunch, so we did take pictures. Mom just added the label here, so that you all know it was the day I turned 17 months:

Another illness?

That fever I talked about during my vacation (see below) turns out to have been the beginning of what we think was Roseola, and now I have this sad looking rash all over. For a happy little girl I sure seem to have been through a lot... 

Summer Vacation Trip

We went up to Durham, N.C. this past weekend to celebrate Nana's birthday. (She met us there, and my uncle Adam and my Aunt Jennifer live there, and Aunt Melissa came down from New York!) Obviously, we spent a lot of time in the car, but for the most part I was pretty happy during the ride.

I watched a Barney DVD that Mama swore would make her crazy but I seemed to enjoy a lot!

And when we got really bored, Daddy gave us his gator hat to play with.

We stopped at a very pretty rest area in Georgia on the way up, and Daddy and I went exploring.

When we got there we got to see Uncle Adam and Caedra's new apartment - isn't it beautiful? And even though he made those funny fingers over my head in this picture, I learned to say "Adam" this weekend! (I say it kind of like [a-um].)

When I met my Aunt Jennifer for the first time, she gave me a present. How exciting! (The bag wasn't even the present! It was a cute soft stuffed bunny rabbit, since her nickname is Bunni.)

And even in the hotel room, I had to have my YoBaby yogurt every morning. Seriously, I should be in a commercial for YoBaby! I don't look too happy here, I know. I got a fever the first day of our trip and felt pretty sick for most of the time we were there.

I played hide-and-seek with Nana in a restaurant - I'm way up top, see?

I bonded with my Aunt Melissa too, even though I'm still unable to say "Melissa". Don't worry, though, I'll get it one day!

Our hotel had a pool and even though I didn't feel great, Daddy took me swimming a little.

Mama let me take my bathing suit off and run around for a while in my 'birthday suit'... until I decided to pee on the pavement! How embarrassing! I was a little confused too because I couldn't figure out what was getting on my foot! (We've removed any offensive images for all you sensitive blogger fans out there.)

We went out for a very nice lunch for Nana's birthday, and I got all dressed up.

Mom and I sat at the big girl chairs too!  

All in all, it was a great trip!

Celebrating Independence Day

Happy Fourth of July! We had a big party at our house today, so we all had to get dressed up...

in RED, WHITE and BLUE, of course! We had a wonderful party, so many people came with so much yummy food and we all had a great time. 

Pool party!

At our party I put on my bathing suit (oh so cute, don't you think?) and got in my pool for the first time. [With water, I mean!] Brrr, it was cold at first! (You see, I now know that it was water that was missing before!

But then my friends David (and his mom, Bonnie) and Max got in too, and we played with a ball and had lots of fun and forgot how cold the water was. I like pool parties! 

Miss Manners

After eating a good meal, it's always very important to wipe your mouth (and your nose - but never ever your hands).

A well mannered child also cleans up her eating space by flinging the remaining bits of food to either side of her chair.

My pool

The most important meal of the day

Even though I eat all my breakfast every morning, and some of Daddy's, I also like to help Mami (yes, I call her "mami", no more "mama") eat hers. She sits on the floor so I have a perfect place to perch. (And she has blueberries... Yum!) 

A new chair?

Mama's back has been bothering her lately, so she's been using a big exercise ball as a desk chair. I have balls I can sit on too, see? 

Reading time

After dinner Daddy and I like to read on the couch. We each read our own book, but we cuddle together. 

Playing on the floor

Mama and I were rolling around playing on the floor the other day. We had so much fun! 

An Inconvenient Truth

I'm too young to see the movie, but not too young to want to have a healthy planet to grow up on. My parents saw the movie and were very impressed... They urge all my blogfans to pledge to see it too.

A nice, quiet weekend morning

My Aunt Melissa gave me this toy for my birthday, way back in February. I've recently rediscovered it... See how I love playing with it?

Saturday is laundry day

So we strip the sheets off all the beds, even Beba's cradle. I help with that part...

And then we remake the beds with clean sheets. Or, you know, in Beba's case, with the same blankets and stuff.

Just right for me to take a little nap.

I'm just kidding! I know I'm too big for that little tiny cradle! 

Fun with balloons

Last weekend was Mama's birthday, and Daddy and I got her balloons to play with. (OK, I'm the one who really likes playing with them.) So here I am playing with the balloon and having a great time.
